BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. SYNTHETIC GRAPHITE ANODE MANUFACTURING FACILITY
ANNOUNCEMENT EVENT & PR CAMPAIGN
Epsilon Advanced Materials (EAM), a leader in sustainable battery technology, partnered with FWV to announce the construction of a new synthetic graphite anode manufacturing facility in Brunswick County, N.C. This facility marks a historic milestone as the largest investment ever made by an Indian company in the United States and the first U.S.-based manufacturing site dedicated to producing synthetic graphite anode material. Graphite anodes are essential for battery performance, offering fast charging, long cycle life and improved safety, making this investment a significant step forward in the domestic battery supply chain.
FWV led the strategy, planning and execution of the announcement, seamlessly integrating public relations and government affairs to maximize public interest, secure participation from elected officials, and generate widespread media coverage. The team worked closely with government partners to align the announcement with key stakeholders, securing the participation of North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, NC Secretary of Commerce Machelle Sanders, Brunswick County Commissioners, and other state and local officials. Additionally, FWV coordinated with EAM’s government affairs partners to solicit supportive media statements from U.S. Senators and Members of Congress who were unable to attend the event.
The messaging strategy ensured that EAM’s announcement aligned with broader economic and policy goals, including the Brunswick County Economic Investment Committee’s growth initiatives, the North Carolina Department of Commerce’s economic development priorities, and federal support for the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). This alignment reinforced the strategic importance of the facility and its role in strengthening the domestic supply chain for battery materials.
Operating within an intensive eight-week planning window, FWV collaborated with EAM leaders, state and federal government offices and external partners to execute all aspects of the announcement. The team managed event logistics, developed the press conference format, provided strategic counsel on embargoed media interviews and crafted key messaging for press materials and public statements. Every detail, from the location of the announcement to the selection of public speakers, was carefully curated to ensure maximum impact.
As a result of FWV’s efforts, the event quickly reached capacity, drawing strong interest from media and government officials, including representation from Washington, D.C., and Raleigh. The campaign secured more than 120 domestic earned media hits, further elevating EAM’s profile within the industry and solidifying its role as a key player in the future of sustainable battery technology.
