CREATIVE . MEDIA RELATIONS
Kettering University is a private university in Flint, Michigan that offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in STEM and business. The university is known for its hands-on learning, co-op program, and focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. We were hired by Kettering University to help with marketing and PR for the grand opening of its Learning Commons.
The Learning Commons, a $63 million, four-story, 105,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art, multi-use facility on Kettering’s campus, is the future of learning.
LEARNING COMMONS GRAND OPENING
THE CAMPAIGN
To promote the grand opening of Kettering University’s $63 million, 105,000-square-foot Learning Commons building, FWV developed and executed a comprehensive communications plan. The plan aimed to communicate the value of the Learning Commons to various stakeholders and highlight Kettering’s commitment to excellence. FWV coordinated media relations, including key message development, press releases, media training, and event briefings, and created event collateral materials such as branding proposals, invitations, banners, and signage. The event, attended by more than 150 people, including local and automotive media, resulted in significant coverage, with Kettering University President Dr. Robert K. McMahan interviewed by nine media outlets and the ceremony featured in more than 20 media outlets and 25 social media posts, generating extensive media impressions and ad value.
BOLDLY FORWARD
INVITATION & SOUVENIR PROGRAM
To honor the generous donors of the Learning Commons Grand Opening, Kettering University held an additional event to celebrate the success of the Boldly Forward Campaign. As an additional wave of support, FWV designed thoughtfully crafted invitations and a curated souvenir program for event attendees. These materials set the tone for the celebration while providing lasting keepsakes that recognized donor contributions and captured the spirit of this milestone event.
