Public relations agency will contribute to the launch of the Club’s primary kit ahead of the inaugural MLS season in 2022
RALEIGH, N.C. (Dec. 14, 2021) — French/West/Vaughan (FWV), the nation’s 15th largest independently held public relations and integrated marketing agency, announced today it has been selected to provide marketing support for Charlotte Football Club (Charlotte FC), the new Major League Soccer franchise in the Carolinas. FWV will specifically manage the Club’s marketing and creative efforts for the primary kit of the Club.
Charlotte FC recently celebrated the official unveiling of its first primary kit at a fan-focused event in Charlotte, N.C. Featuring branding of the Club’s founding partners, including Ally as the lead, front-of-jersey sponsor and Centene Corporation as the secondary sleeve partner, the blue-and-white adidas kit has an iconic, vibrant design that showcases North and South Carolina together on the jock tag in the lower left corner.
The “Carolina” kit is set to be worn by Charlotte FC’s players for the 2022 and 2023 MLS seasons. The Club kicks off their inaugural season with a match against D.C. United at Audi Field on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, followed by their first-ever MLS match at Bank of America Stadium against LA Galaxy on Saturday, March 5, 2022.
“As the first Major League Soccer franchise in the Carolinas, Charlotte FC is going to have an incredibly positive impact on the entire region,” said FWV’s Chairman and CEO Rick French. “We are excited to partner with a Club whose mission is to be a unifying force bigger than just one city, and whose primary kit will be worn with pride by thousands of fans of all backgrounds representing the entirety of the Carolinas.”
FWV supported the primary kit launch of the Club by producing a dedicated video featuring players and reinforcing Charlotte FC’s mission. The agency also developed a series of supporting assets including announcement graphics and a billboard design for the Charlotte area.
