FWV Distilled Honored With Seven Awards for Outstanding Creative Work

 

Agency is one of the top award winners in annual competition, tying for the highest number of awards received


RALEIGH, N.C. (April 6, 2009) - FWV Distilled - the advertising, graphic design and eMERGING media arm of powerhouse PR firm French/West/Vaughan - today announced that the agency topped the annual BOOM! awards by taking home seven awards at a recent awards gala held at The Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte.


The BOOM! awards recognized FWV Distilled's work on the following projects, in the following categories:

  • - Branding and identity: The creation of a logomark for the annual Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) basketball tournament.
  • - Corporate communications: Development and execution of the "Everything You Should Know about AstroTurf campaign," which included collateral, Web and print ads designed to re-launch the AstroTurf brand.
  • - Environmental design: A vibrant graphic enhancement of the student lounge in the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at North Carolina State University.
  • - Promotional design and advertising:
    • Creation of an "obituary" newspaper ad for Brady, Nordgren, Morton & Malone, a law firm that specializes in estate planning. The ad ran on the Obituary page and looked like an actual obituary with the content crossed out and the    headline, "The wrong estate planning can wipe out a lifetime of hard work."
    • Development of the bioMerieux "Outdated" Campaign, an integrated campaign designed to explain the benefits of the company's PNA FISH test.
    • Proposal for the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services that was contained in a large, simulated prescription pill bottle.
  • - Motion graphics: Creation of a three-minute video designed to help the e-NC Initiative communicate its mission of connecting all North Carolinians to the Internet and a better future.

The BOOM! awards recognize the best creative work designed and produced by residents of North Carolina and South Carolina between December 2006 and October 2008. The competition is hosted by AIGA, the professional association for design, which is committed to advancing design as a vital cultural force. The awards celebrate design that makes an impact - creative solutions that leave an impression, demand attention, make people think and initiate change. The awards represent an authoritative chronicle of outstanding design solutions and reward the value of design.
