FWV Acquires Equity Interest in RGAA PR

Agency also absorbs music & entertainment practice of well-known music publicist

(Sept. 1, 2015) New York City – French/West/Vaughan (FWV), one of the nation’s leading independently-owned PR agencies, has completed a pair of deals in NYC that will add significantly to the agency’s fast growing sports & entertainment practice and will also allow the agency to offer Hispanic PR and marketing capabilities to its clients for the first time.

In the first of two deals, FWV Chairman & CEO Rick French announced that FWV has acquired a 50% interest in Hispanic PR, marketing and branded content agency RGAA PR, which was started by PR industry veteran Raul Gonzalez in 2011. The firm represents clients such as EA Sports for its best-selling FIFA, UFC and Need For Speed video game franchisees; Sega Sports Interactive’s Football Manager series; and the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer.

The firm will begin its move into FWV’s existing office at 261 Madison Avenue in New York this week, with the agency taking additional space to accommodate its staff. Raul Gonzalez will continue to lead RGAA PR under its own agency brand, which will become a partially-owned subsidiary of FWV.

“We are tremendously excited to be able to offer our clients a Hispanic PR and marketing capability for the first time in the agency’s 18 year history,” said French.  “What made this deal perfect for FWV is the fact that RGAA PR does a lot of its work in soccer, so it allows us to further build our fast-growing sports & entertainment practice while at the same time affording us an overall Hispanic marketing capability that we’ve never had.”

As part of the deal, Alexander Stuart, who joined RGAA PR from Major League Soccer and was a former executive with the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, will join FWV as Manager, Sports Marketing, reporting to FWV Sports & Entertainment President Jack Glasure. Gonzalez will report directly to French.

The agency also announced that it has absorbed the music & entertainment practice of New York-based former Big Hassle Media music publicist Steven Trachtenbroit, who joins FWV as Director, Artist & Entertainment Relations. Trachtenbroit brings with him a roster of high profile artists and music-related properties including:

  • Multi-platinum selling icons The Backstreet Boys;
  • GRAMMY nominated singer/songwriter Emily King;
  • American Idol finalist Danny Gokey; and
  • Critically acclaimed indie rockers The Dears.

In addition, Trachtenbroit brings with him Colorado Springs-based CW Botanicals and their Charlotte’s Web hemp products; Uphoric TV (http://uphoric.tv/introduction/), the world’s first digital television network dedicated to the worldwide music festival circuit; and the UK’s highly popular book making website The Book Of Everyone, which is now available in the U.S.

Trachtenbroit will also report to Glasure but will work very closely with French, who serves on the board of trustees of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame + Museum and has been looking for the right opportunity to expand the entertainment side of the agency’s S&E practice. FWV has previously represented the likes of Rock Hall Inductee Dave Mason; hip-hop pioneer and actor T.I.; and a number of actors and celebrities in its L.A. office. French is also executive producing the Dwayne Johnson survival drama “Not Without Hope.”
